Today you will learn how to make ready dough cake grow. I believe that this is one of the biggest doubts of those who choose this practical and economical packaging to prepare a delicious cake.
Really, the ready-made pastry tends to not grow as much as traditional homemade cakes. But I have separated 5 tips that will help you get around this problem and still enjoy all the practicality of the ready dough. Check it out!
5 tips to make the dough ready to yield more
1. Add yeast
You may be asking yourself: but you already have yeast in the dough, why put more? As you are going to beat all the ingredients of the ready dough in the mixer or blender, this contained yeast may lose its action, because the fresher, the greater its efficiency.
I don’t trust much, not even in those flours that already come with yeast. I do not recommend using it to make cakes because it is almost certain to go solar. And, let’s face it, nobody likes a sole cake, Is not it?
So, try adding the yeast after you have beaten everything, your dough will pay off!
2. Replace the butter with the oil
In any package, ask to add about 4 tablespoons of unsalted margarine. Try replacing it with ½ cup (tea) of oil. This will help to make the dough much more fluffy and textured, resulting in a more voluminous and moist cake.
In addition, if there is cake left, you can safely store it in the refrigerator that it will not dry out. Unlike a pasta with margarine. It will stay for up to 5 days super moist and soft.
3. Separate the egg whites from the yolks
The packages ask to add 2 to 3 eggs in the dough (I always put 3). So, to add more volume to ready dough cake, beat the egg whites until stiff. Then just book.
Beat the egg yolks with butter or oil to form a thick cream. Then, just add the cake mixture and alternate with the addition of milk. After all, put the egg whites in the snow and don’t forget to add 1 spoon of baking powder to double the size of your cake. 😉
4. Raise the milk slightly
The amount required in the recipe is 100ml of milk. However, I recommend that you add 180ml. This will make the dough yield a little more and still not interfere with the texture of the cake. You can trust that it works!
5. Do not grease the sides of the pan
Whenever we want to make a dough grow more, we cannot limit its growth. If you grease – even if it’s only with butter – the sides of the form, will hold the dough, preventing its uniform growth.
I’ve heard a lot of people complaining that cakes always have a tummy or crack on the surface, that’s the reason. Therefore, when it comes to greasing, I recommend that you apply a generous layer of butter only on the bottom of the pan.
Then line with parchment paper or paper towels. You can take the form to the oven at 180º quietly. Notice how the shape of the cake will change. 😉
If you apply all these techniques that I mentioned, your ready-made dough will yield up to 2 cakes. This if you use two shapes up to 20cm in diameter and 10cm in height.
Consider doubling the dough recipe
Now, if your intention is to bring a lot more volume to the dough, you can consider increasing the revenue. This is very simple and is ideal for making cakes with multiple layers and filling.
To do this, you will need to double the addition of some ingredients and add others. To help you, I will list below what you will need:
- 1 packet of ready-made cake dough
- 250g of wheat flour
- 3 tablespoons of margarine or ½ cup of oil
- 250g of sugar
- 250ml of milk
- 3 egg whites
- 3 gems
- 1 tablespoon of yeast
In this case, it is also interesting to beat the egg whites in snow to ensure a super fluffy and aerated mass. Then just follow the recipe as usual and combine with the tips I showed you earlier. This way, you will be able to double the recipe and gain dough for up to 3 cakes.
EXTRA TIP to increase revenue
I’ll take the opportunity to leave a suggestion for you. I did it and it worked really well. What do you think of increasing the dough with some extra ingredients?
You can put 100g of grated coconut, 100g of chocolate Drops, chopped nuts, chopped fruits, guava, that is, everything that is in pieces. Thus, your dough will gain more volume and an extra special flavor.
I chose a ready-made chocolate dough and added 100g of chopped walnuts and 100g of chocolate droplets. My cake was just divine. I took the opportunity to put a very creamy topping on top. You can even sell!
