  1. Leaves: The darker green ones are the most suitable – spinach, cabbage, rocket, watercress, parsley;
  2. Sweet fruits: Great for naturally sweetening the juice – apple, prune, dried apricot, melon, banana, peach;
  3. Red fruits: Rich in antioxidants, they are great for the skin – strawberry, blackberry, cherry, raspberry;
  4. Vegetables: especially the cucumber, which is diuretic and has a rich fibre husk. Pumpkin and celery are also good to order;
  5. Roots: add fiber and vitamins – carrot, beet, yam, sweet potato;
  6. Ginger: is digestive and accelerates the metabolism;

According to Dr. Cátia Medeiros, « the mixture of ingredients that make up the green juice provides a range of nutrients and is very rich in chlorophyll, fiber and antioxidants. If detox juice is consumed with a certain regularity, it can be a powerful aid in fortifying the immune system ».

« Detox juice is a beverage that has components that favor liver cleansing. The liver is the most important organ in the detoxification process. The nutrients in the juice are essential to transform the toxins (liposoluble substances) present in the body into water-soluble substances, so that they can be eliminated there, » explains Thaianna Velasco.

In addition, « detox juice is recommended when the individual has difficulty in eating vegetables and greens, as acceptance is generally better when it is in the form of juice. It is also indicated for those who have fluid retention and an intestine that does not work well », points out Cátia.

« Like any other food, detox juice should have moderate consumption. So, it should not pass from one glass to the day », indicates Cátia, who warns even that the juice should not be taken as a substitute for meals, since it will not provide alone all the nutrients that the organism needs.

As for the time of consumption, the morning is the most recommended alternative. « Fasting in the morning is the best time, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be taken throughout the day. It should only be avoided during big meals, as the granddaughter needs gastric acid to help in the process of digestion of food, and the green juice, because it is very alkaline, can hinder this process », Thaianna explains.
