Let’s agree that practicality in the kitchen is all good, right? So, we’re going to teach you how to prepare a practical and very tasty meal: oven sandwich. See 10 different ways to prepare it, choose one to test and tell us what you thought, see?

1. Simple oven sandwich

Ingredients

  • 1 tomato
  • 1 pack of crustless bread
  • 2 pots of cream cheese
  • 200 g ham
  • 500 g mozzarella cheese
  • Oregano to taste

Directions

  1. Cut the tomato into thin slices;
  2. In a baking pan, start making a layer just of bread, another of cream cheese, another of ham, another of cheese and the last one of cream cheese. Repeat the same process until all the bread is filled;
  3. Finish filling the form with cheese, put some slices of tomato and oregano on top and bake in the oven at 200 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.

2. Oven sandwich with turkey breast

Ingredients

  • Ready made tomato sauce to taste
  • Bread to taste
  • Mayonnaise to taste
  • 300 g sliced ham
  • 300 g sliced turkey breast
  • 300 g sliced mozzarella
  • Tomato slices
  • Oregano to taste

Directions

  1. In a baking pan, spread tomato sauce and make layers with the bread, mayonnaise, ham, turkey breast, mozzarella and tomato slices. Spread a little more tomato sauce and repeat the same process until it fills the baking pan.
  2. On top, finish with plenty of mozzarella, tomato slices and the oregano;
  3. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for about 15 minutes.

3. Oven sandwich with mayonnaise

Ingredients

  • 1 sachet of ready-made sauce
  • 12 pieces of bread rolls
  • Mayonnaise or cream cheese
  • 300 g ham
  • 300 g mozzarella
  • Tomatoes to taste
  • Olives to taste
  • Oregano to taste

Directions

  1. In a baking pan, line well with tomato sauce and start making the layers: first the bread, then the mayonnaise, the ham, the cheese, sauce again, tomato and olives. Repeat the same process until the baking pan is full;
  2. To finish, cover with plenty of cheese, tomato and oregano;
  3. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes.

4. Oven sandwich with cream cheese and mayonnaise

Ingredients

  • Bread (quantity as desired)
  • 250 g mayonnaise
  • 250 g cream cheese
  • Ready made tomato sauce
  • 200 g sliced ham
  • 200 g sliced mozzarella
  • 1 can of corn
  • 100 g chopped mozzarella
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • Oregano to taste

Directions

  1. In a bowl, place the mayonnaise and cream cheese. Mix and set aside;
  2. In a baking pan, spread tomato sauce, make a layer with bread, another of cream cheese with mayonnaise, also put ham, sliced mozzarella, corn and sauce again. Repeat the process until it fills the baking pan;
  3. To finish, spread chopped mozzarella, tomato slices and oregano;
  4. Bake in preheated oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes.

5. Oven sandwich with cream

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 carton heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 15 slices of bread
  • 250 g cheese
  • 250 g ham
  • 2 chopped tomatoes
  • Oregano to taste

Directions

  1. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese with the cream, salt and black pepper. Set aside;
  2. In a baking pan, begin by placing the slices of bread, then spread the cream of mayonnaise and sour cream;
  3. Add a layer of ham, another of cheese, tomato, oregano and salt. Repeat the same process until it fills the form;
  4. Finish with plenty of cheese and bake in preheated oven at 180 degrees until cheese begins to gratin.

6. Oven sandwich with white cream

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons wheat flour
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 250 g (8 oz) loaf of bread
  • 200 g prato cheese
  • 200 g ham
  • Grated cheese to taste

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, start preparing the white sauce: melt the butter, add the flour and stir well;
  2. Add the milk and mix constantly until the sauce thickens;
  3. Put in the salt and pepper and set aside;
  4. In a bowl, assemble in this order: a first layer of bread, then the prato cheese, the ham, half of the white sauce, another layer of bread, and finally the rest of the sauce;
  5. To finish, add the grated cheese on top;
  6. Bake in preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 30 minutes.

7. Oven sandwich with chicken

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 500 g cooked chicken
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • Paprika to taste
  • Curry to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons tomato extract
  • Olives to taste
  • 200 g ricotta cheese
  • Green onion to taste
  • 1/2 packet of bread crumbs
  • 2 sachets of white sauce
  • 200 g ham
  • 200 g mozzarella cheese
  • Bacon, crushed to taste
  • 1/2 can of corn
  • Oregano to taste

Directions

  1. For the filling, in a pan, place the olive oil, the onion, the garlic and saute until the onion wilts;
  2. Add the chicken and tomatoes and stir well. Then add the seasonings: paprika, curry and pepper;
  3. Add the tomato paste and mix well. Then add the olives, the ricotta cheese, and the parsley;
  4. Stir well until there is no more broth, but the chicken is very wet and seasoned. Turn off the heat and set aside;
  5. In a baking pan, begin the assembly in the following order: white sauce, flat bread, the chicken we prepared, the ham, the cheese, the bacon, the corn, and the white sauce again;
  6. Make another layer with the bread, chicken, corn, bacon, white sauce, ham, cheese and oregano to taste;
  7. Bake in preheated oven at 200 degrees until cheese is golden brown and gratin.

8. Oven sandwich with chicken and bacon

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1/2 onion, minced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 350 g shredded chicken
  • 50 g sliced green olives
  • 120 ml tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of catupiry
  • 1/2 teaspoon of paprika (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Parsley to taste
  • 12 slices of crustless bread
  • 200 g ricotta cheese
  • 1 box heavy cream
  • 150 g grated mozzarella
  • 150 g chopped bacon

Directions

  1. In a pan over medium heat, add the oil and let it warm up. Add the onion and saute;
  2. Then add the garlic and saute a little more;
  3. Include shredded chicken, olives, tomato sauce, catupiry and paprika. Mix well;
  4. Season with salt and black pepper and let cook a little. Then turn off the heat and add the chopped parsley;
  5. In another pan over medium heat, place the bacon and let it fry in its own fat;
  6. Drain on paper towel;
  7. In a bowl, mix the cream, ricotta cheese and season with a pinch of salt and pepper;
  8. In the bottom of a baking dish, put a thin layer of white cream on top of the bread, more white cream, the chicken filling, the mozzarella and the chopped bacon. Repeat the process until the baking pan is full;
  9. Bake at 200°C for about 15 to 20 minutes or until cheese is melted;
  10. Then, to garnish, add the remaining chopped bacon and some more parsley.

9. Light oven sandwich

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon fennel, cut into small pieces
  • 12 cherry tomatoes cut in half
  • 100 g turkey breast, cut into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons minced leeks, cut into small pieces
  • ½ onion, chopped into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons arugula, cut into small pieces
  • 2 tbsp (tablespoons) hearts of palm, cut into small pieces
  • Fine herbs
  • 1 tablespoon light cream cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fromage blanc (or cream cheese)
  • 3 small whole wheat baguettes
  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan

Directions

  1. In a bowl, place the fennel, tomatoes, turkey breast, leek, onion, arugula, hearts of palm, herbs, cream cheese and mix well;
  2. Add salt and pepper to taste and stir again, then add the fromage blanc;
  3. On a board, cut the baguettes in half and remove all the crumb to stuff them with the cream we have prepared. Add also the grated parmesan cheese;
  4. Bake in a medium oven for 20 minutes.

10. Vegan oven sandwich

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon sunflower oil
  • 1 grated onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 + 1/2 Tbsp. wheat flour
  • 500 ml of homemade nut milk (save the residue)
  • Nutmeg to taste
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 1 grated carrot
  • 1 grated zucchini
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup green olives
  • 100g of the Brazil nut residue (what’s left over from the milk we made above)
  • 4 dried tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons of the oil from the canned dried tomatoes
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 4 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • White, crustless flatbread
  • Oregano to taste

Directions

  1. To prepare the white sauce, in a pan, put the oil and the onion. Sauté for two minutes and add the salt, the wheat and stir for another minute;
  2. Add the nut milk little by little and stir well with the help of a fue. Add nutmeg and cook for six minutes;
  3. Now let’s prepare the vegetable saute: in a frying pan, put the olive oil and the onion. Sauté for two minutes and add the grated carrot, the zucchini, the salt, the pepper and the olives. Sauté for four minutes and set aside;
  4. For the ricotta cream, in a food processor, we will use the leftover residue from the homemade vegetable milk and add the tomatoes and the oil from the canned tomatoes. Process everything, add a pinch of salt and set aside;
  5. To assemble, use a platter greased with olive oil and follow the following order: tomato sauce, bread, white sauce, vegetables, bread, white sauce, ricotta, bread, white sauce, vegetables, bread, white sauce and slices of tomatoes and oregano on top;
  6. Bake in a medium oven for 30 minutes.
